The Ohio State University is currently seeking a Tax Accountant.

This position is responsible for university-wide compliance with federal and state laws on unrelated business income (UBI), including completion of federal and multi-state tax filings; reports and remits sales taxes to Ohio and other states; prepares federal excise tax returns; identifies potential UBI tax exposures, assists senior tax manager with research and the development of tax positions (for review by Legal Affairs); assists Accounts Payable with 1099 reporting issues and employee-independent contractor determinations; provides training and guidance to university departments.

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience as well as a minimum 3 years’ tax experience. Candidates must have strong analytical, technical, decision-making and problem solving skills in addition to high attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. This position also requires a candidate with the willingness to adapt to new business technologies/processes, experience working with large, decentralized organizations, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Desired:

Master's Degree. CPA certification. Tax experience in higher education.
