Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the Web Development and Operations team within University Marketing, the Web Support Specialist is responsible for the support and management of digital marketing tools and content across a wide variety of properties and platforms. Leveraging best practices and standards, this position manages day-to-day website maintenance and content demands; Creates self-service tools to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness; Supports various third-party digital marketing platforms and tools; Provides training and support to colleagues within University Marketing as well as partners in university colleges and business units.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, is both organized and flexible, has a genuine interest in web technologies, and exhibits the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement’s core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Duties:
50%
Serve as the first point of contact for web team support and maintenance requests; Assist end users, including troubleshooting issues with content management system and other marketing tools; Identify and escalate rendering issues with web pages and email messages; Prioritize support requests for student workers.

Develop and maintain static and interactive training materials including user guides and documentation.

Administer digital marketing platforms used by University Marketing and support colleagues in their use.

Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree; 1+ years of experience modifying HTML content within content management systems (CMS) and/or online marketing tools; Demonstrated ability to inspect and edit HTML and CSS code; 2+ years of professional experience providing training and consultation, and developing documentation for non-technical audiences on web-based platforms; Evidence of strong problem-solving skills and agility in workflow management; Professional experience working with third-party software-as-a-service platform vendors or configuring digital marketing tools (i.e. content management, email marketing, marketing automation, advertising and analytics, etc.); Familiarity with front-end website development processes and lifecycle, including support strategies for ongoing maintenance, services, and solutions; Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Desired:
Experience editing and sending HTML email using common third-party marketing tools (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.); Working experience with image manipulation, screen capture, and presentation platforms and features and leveraging them to develop static and interactive training materials (i.e. SnagIt, Photoshop, Camtasia, WebEx, etc.); Professional experience collaborating with designers, developers and copywriters; Professional experience working in a marketing services or creative agency environment.
