Duties and Responsibilities

The University Web Content Specialist contributes to the design, development, and implementation of web communications for Miami University. This is done through the production of specific web and online projects, with a specialized focus on content and language.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Strategic Communications, other related field, or equivalent experience
- Excellent written communication skills
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with a broad range of campus constituencies and work as part of a cross-functional team
- Ability to manage multiple projects for on-time delivery
The University Web Content Specialist (WCS) serves as a representative of University Marketing and Communications to Miami's academic and administrative divisions. As liaison and first point of contact, the WCS assists with online marketing efforts and the successful production of external-facing websites, ensuring adherence to brand standards and best practices. Along with web page creation, duties include training, troubleshooting, and general problem-solving to meet communication objectives. Strong attention to detail is a must, as well as an ability to juggle multiple assignments and produce quality work under tight deadlines. The successful candidate will also have an eagerness to learn all aspects of web production, while utilizing and maintaining industry standards.
