Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of the Office of Institutional Equity, the Title IX Coordinator will support the university’s efforts to foster a living, working and education environment that is free from harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. The Title IX Coordinator works closely with the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Human Resources, Office of Student Life, Office of Legal Affairs, Office of University Compliance and Integrity, Athletics, University Police Division, and other on and off-campus partners to oversee the university’s compliance and educational efforts with regards to the Title IX of the Higher Education Action of 1964, as amended in 1972, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), as well as other laws and rules related to sex discrimination and sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment and sexual assault, and related polices.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree; five years of relevant professional work experience; demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and work independently with minimal oversight; excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse population of students, faculty and staff; working knowledge of Title IX, Title VII, VAWA, Clery Act, FERPA, and related state federal laws and regulations; ability to maintain highly confidential information; excellent research, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
JD or PhD., or other terminal degree; experience working as a Title IX Coordinator; experience receiving and/or addressing Title IX or other forms of harassment and/or discrimination complaints; experience in regulatory compliance; experience working in higher education; demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus and university partners; ability to work under stress; demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
