Duties and Responsibilities

Serve on the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Information Technology Services (ITS) Infrastructure team; This position can be based in either Columbus or Wooster, Ohio and will spend a majority of time traveling around the 88 counties addressing network issues and supporting new initiatives. Responsible for designing campus logical and physical network infrastructure, including hardware vendor selection, core locations, fiber topology, virtual chassis layout (Juniper only) subnet design, and VLAN design; develops, tests, implements, maintains, and documents optimum campus network configurations for Cisco and Juniper switches and routers, including Routing (SPF and static), Switching (VLANs, trunking, port configuration and security, spanning-tree, BPDU guard), Link Aggregation and Redundancy, Security (ACLs, Routing Policy, Firewall Policy), QoS/CoS, Management (SSH, SNMP, RADIUS), and Virtual Chassis (Juniper) and Switch Stacking (Cisco) and troubleshooting problems related to these configurations is also required.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer & Information Science or equivalent work experience; Strong working knowledge of networking concepts (VLANS, Routing, and Firewall security) are required; three or more years of working in IT are required; strong problem solving, customer service and interpersonal skills for dealing with a diverse client base are necessary; A+ and Newtorking +.
