Duties and Responsibilities

The Systems Developer Engineer -Wooster Infrastructure Engineer serves on the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Information Technology Services (ITS) Infrastructure team. Areas of responsibility include centralized infrastructure server support; support systems that provide core computing services, storage services, virtualization services, disaster recovery services, and others as necessary; log analysis; obtain related ongoing training and perform research and development, installation and configuration, maintenance, and documentation; ensure compliance with University information technology standards; work primarily with other members of ITS; perform other duties as assigned; a valid driver’s license and travel may be required between regional locations. Position is located in Wooster, Ohio.

Position Requirements

Desired Experience

Windows Administration; AD & Group Policy; File/Print Services; NTFS Security Rights Assignment; Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, and basic networking fundamentals; familiarity with Windows and Linux server virtualization and SAN technologies; EqualLogic storage; Compellent storage; VEEAM or similar tools for disaster recovery; Amazon Web Services and/or other Cloud Hosting providers; CompTIA, MCSA/MCSE, or other similar certifications; VMware VCP; Juniper JunOS JNCIS

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; five years of experience in a multi-platform production server environment; experience with server virtualization and SAN technologies.
