We are looking for an accomplished, experienced, and creative Systems Administrator to join our Linux Team. This Systems Administrator will reliably manage infrastructure and integrated services that support Miami University’s academic, research and business missions.
If you are a Linux systems administrator who enjoys developing infrastructure as code, cloud and datacenter operations, and building reliable, flexible infrastructure with a purpose this is the job for you! As a Linux systems administrator if you enjoy exploring new technologies within the system infrastructure realm and imparting you high-skills to junior systems administrators you will excel in this role.
Our Linux systems administrators work collaboratively as a team to diagnose problems and transform our infrastructure. We are a learning-based team that supports individuals to better their skills through guided experienced-based learning in service to the University. Our team culture encourages communication between staff.
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Require a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Require at least 4 years of experience demonstrating a progression in Linux Systems Administrator experience.
- Require experience writing and developing scripts or other programing-based automation of system administration tasks.
- You must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, admitted for residence as an applicant under the 1986 immigration amnesty law, refugee asylee.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.
