Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead Application Developer for Advancement, the Systems Developer/Engineer provides technical application development and shares responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, and support; follows approved life cycle methodologies; and performs program coding and testing. This is a hands-on position requiring a working knowledge of relational databases, with client-server concepts using. Net technology. He/she serves as a technical resource in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the Blackbaud CRM, SQL Server Reporting Services reports, SQL Server stored procedures, and related Business Intelligence and Information systems to support the needs of the Office of Advancement.
The Systems Developer/Engineer is expected to have excellent analytical, debugging, verbal and written skills; work independently and in a team on complex projects and applications; translate functional specifications into very high quality, well written and documented applications; multi-task, prioritizing and organizing these tasks to maximize productivity and meet the needs of customers; and exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement’s core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Duties:
85% Provides technical application development and shares responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, and support. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, and performs program coding and testing. This is a hands-on position requiring a knowledge of relational database, with client-server concepts using. Net technology. Serves as a technical resource in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the Blackbaud CRM, SQL Server Reporting Services reports, SQL Server stored procedures, and related Business Intelligence & information systems to support the needs of the University Development.
10% Provides technical SSRS report development and shares responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, and support. Follows approved life cycle methodologies and performs report creation, modification, and testing.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer and information science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 5 years of experience with VB.NET, ASP.NET or C#; experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or greater, specifically T-SQL; working knowledge in relational databases; and application development experience in analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, support and enhancement of .NET applications.
Desired
Experience with SSRS; experience with creating and consuming web services; working knowledge of client-server and web server concepts using Microsoft .NET technology.
In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17 this position has been designated as a standby position.
Required Experience
A proven professional who understands foundation fundraising in higher education and is collaborative, innovative and driven to continuous improvement will rise to the top as an applicant. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading the proposal development process and a proven track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and closing foundation gifts, preferably in a large, complex higher education or medical center environment.
