Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises the day-to-day operations of outbound shipping ensuring it is professionally managed and meets customer needs. Responsible for the adherence to established policies and procedures. Oversees the selection, development and training of staff to support a high performing delivery network operation to OSU's main campus. Monitors performance and activities of staff to meet and exceed campus customers. Assists with the formation of policies and procedures and recommends improvements for streamlined operations for dock operations, vehicle utilization, route optimization and utilizes the Package Tracking technology to measure, monitor and report on daily business metrics. Tracks, maintains and provides input to key performance indicators to monitor productivity.

Position Requirements

Qualifications: 3-4 years’ experience in a transportation or distribution environment; experience with fleet management; supervisory experience; ability to lead and train others including giving directions and reviewing quality of work performed; detail-oriented and strong work ethic; adaptable and the ability to work well with others; self-starter with excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to effectively manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment; experience using Microsoft Office, inventory control, and package tracking systems; ability to lift 35 lbs.
