Duties and Responsibilities

The Social Media Production Manager is responsible for producing visual and creative content for enterprise social media platforms while remaining fluent in social media tactics, video and multimedia production, and staying current with industry trends. This position partners with multimedia, designers and writers to develop creative assets that can be leveraged on enterprise accounts and across the campus community and provides coverage for events on campus as necessary. They will assist with social media policy implementation as it relates to maintaining brand standards across the campus environment. This role will require occasional evening and weekend work.

A member of the University Marketing team and reporting to the Senior Director of Social Media, they must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to handle multiple projects with changing priorities and work in a collaborative matrix organization.  All members of Advancement are part of creating an inclusive culture that inspires an exceptionally diverse and talented team and are measured on their adherence to the following core competencies:  leadership, continuous improvement, teamwork and collaboration, and communication/interpersonal effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

60%   Develop and manage creative, visual content production for content on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Snapchat, with potential to add new platforms. This role will be responsible for co-producing social video content, including storyboarding, shoot coordination and SEO optimization with an eye toward specific audience-centric channel strategies. Partner with multimedia, designers and writers to develop creative assets that can be leveraged on enterprise accounts and across the campus community for relevant campaign work. Execute paid content boosting, digital campaigns and test-and-learn opportunities. Provide coverage for events on campus as necessary.

30%   Provide consultation and coordinate social media campaigns with campus social media communicators, as well as external influencers. Assist with social media policy implementation as it relates to maintaining brand standards across the campus environment. Maintain Ohio State's brand voice and character, tailored to defined audiences on respective platforms.

10%   Other duties as assigned, to include staying abreast of new and emerging social media tools, platform capabilities, etc. to share within the enterprise.

Position Requirements

Desired qualifications:

Experience with audience-centricity, integrated marketing planning; Ability to interpret social media analytics, develop insights and optimize; Working knowledge of social media paid boosting and advertising; Experience with crisis management and communication.

Required Experience

Required qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, multimedia, video production, journalism or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 3+ years of professional social media or multimedia marketing experience; Proficiency in developing multimedia assets tailored to social media channels; Proven ability to produce for creative, visual storytelling; Strong understanding of content marketing and reputation management.
