Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Researcher oversees methodologies used for Reading Recovery (RR) and Descubriendo la Lectura (DLL) evaluation; Writes annual national reports for RR and DLL; Writes papers for Journal of Reading Recovery and other publications; Coordinates any changes in methodology with IDEC’s Director of IT and Operations; Participates in twice a year meetings with North American Trainers Groups; Provides assistance to the University Trainers in seeking important new research which may inform Reading Recovery instruction; Provides assistance for research projects that have priority with the NATG research committee; Provides technical assistance (if needed) to research projects that are contracted with IDEC; Evaluate proposals to determine time and resources required and use the formula to determine the rate of pay for IDEC; Conducts research on Reading Recovery; Attend federal grant meetings; Coordinate budgeting requirements to support these activities with IDEC’s Director of IT and Operations, the Faculty Board, and the T&L Department Chair; Presents regularly as teacher leader institute, reading recovery national conference, and reading recovery international institute. This position has the option of telecommuting.

Position Requirements

PhD in quantitative research methodology; Extensive experience analyzing educational data using quantitative models; Previous experience writing articles for research journals; Previous experience presenting research findings.

Previous knowledge of Reading Recovery and/or Descubriendo la Lectura
