Duties and Responsibilities

Designs, plans, and coordinates the development of custom applications to support payroll processing, university internal controls, risk management, tax and deduction reporting and reconciliation; explores advanced technologies and performs complex data metrics to support Payroll planning and decision making; anticipates needs, identifies problems and recommends solutions using a wide range of analysis and solution strategies; monitors system performance; serves as an expert consultant within and outside the University; assumes leadership and advising capacity on technical projects and HR/Payroll system upgrades; manages testing and implementation of system projects; leads teams in process streamlining activities, system enhancements, and upgrades; tracks industry trends; analyzes new and alternative technologies; recommends and develops database and reporting solutions.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer & Information Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years’ experience with software development; three years’ experience using PeopleSoft (version 8.9 or higher,) Payroll data structure and setup tables; experience planning and implementing system upgrades; extensive and specialized knowledge of complex payroll and human resource system.

Desired:

Experience with SAS and SQR programming languages and Hyperion reporting tool; knowledge of FTP system protocols; experience with website development and project management.
