Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Business Process (BP) Lead will be a part of the Enterprise Project Business Process team and will assist in the preparation, communication, and implementation of a cloud-based enterprise resource planning solution (student, financials, and human capital management), one of the most visible and complex initiatives being undertaken by the organization. Responsible for leading the discovery (scope/planning), architect (design), configuration and prototyping (development), testing, and implementation phases of the project life cycle for Ohio State’s business process transformation initiatives involving multiple technologies, systems, business unit functions and stakeholders within the scope of the project for university Student, Finance or Human Capital Management business processes. This lead position will conduct reviews of business units organizational structures, workflow designs, processes, and systems and making recommendations as to how to improve efficiencies and effectiveness with the ultimate goal of simplifying disparate processes by identifying shared processes. The successful candidate must understand and model the impact of significant business process changes, and assist with implementation of proposed changes. The Sr. BP Lead works with business units Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to inventory current state processes, model future state processes based on needs and strategic visions of the unit and university, manage issues and risks to completion, and assists in identifying additional resources necessary to execute the project plan. The Sr. BP Lead provides coordination and management of a Business Process team and serves as the contact point with stakeholders and vendors, coordinating roles and procedures for external vendors and internal staff, and provides coaching and feedback to peers and other members of the BP Team regarding BP improvement methodology. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison to end users by ensuring effective communication and collaboration, managing User Acceptance Testing activities with assigned areas, and executing end-to-end BP and integrated system testing as needed. The successful candidate is an excellent communicator, critical thinker, motivated with a positive attitude, and able to work independently to gather and evaluate data.

Position Requirements

Required:  Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of eight (8+) years’ experience in system implementation role(s) where responsible for the business applications for a technology transformation or equivalent business experience; demonstrated successful leadership expertise and project management, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple business or IT sponsored projects and strategic initiatives, including the team members assigned; ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees, peers, executive leadership, customers, vendors, technical team members and others; demonstrated expertise of building consensus across diverse business groups and leaders, while influencing successful outcomes; demonstrated experience facilitating work groups; project management experience; supervisory experience including hiring, training, coaching and evaluating; deep knowledge of financial, student, or human capital management business processes.

Desired

Experience with complex, large-scale ERP, preferably cloud ERP / specifically Workday, implementations; background with higher education, and/or with healthcare / academic medical center experience; experience with Accounting, Accounts Receivables / Customer Contracts and/or Expenses; PMP, CAPM, Lean/Six Sigma.
