Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Business Analyst contributes strategic vision and serves as a top-level contributor in the planning, development, implementation, functionality, and evaluation of integrated systems that support and enhance the business operation. Provides operational support for large complex system processes that are time sensitive with great attention to detail. Ability to work independently and with a team.  Lead end to end resolution of break fixes, which includes working with leads in the formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Serves as a top-level business systems consultant and resource with business knowledge and computer expertise to coordinate and provide support for all new and current applications and software upgrades applicable to the business systems. Consults on major initiatives and projects, including multiple service lines, platforms, and various administrative interfaces regarding the integration of technology with the overall business. Partners with the Office of the CIO and business units to perform business analysis functions such as gathering user requirements, business rules, data sources, bundle release testing, collection queue implementation, and data conversion clean up for new or existing applications. Acts as a subject matter expert on business systems strategies, procedures, policies, methodologies. Provides ongoing communication with customers on system status and data issues and advises on end-user training for business applications to ensure understanding of functionality.  Provides second tier troubleshooting and assist with maintaining and running existing complex applications and processes (e.g. monitor processes, error correction, provide QA of data and maintain data integrity, system testing, report software deficiencies to the vendor, run process in production, etc.).  Provides expert consultation on complex information systems projects.  Delivers approved communications to students and parents using system functionality. Leads On Base implementations. Provides system and security-related audit requests and implements necessary audit changes. Assists with mandated data reporting. Provides production back up support to other Bursar’s Office system staff.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five to seven years' systems-related experience; experience implementing and managing student or financial systems. Knowledge of analysis, specification design, language selection, and reporting formatting. Ability to identify, analyze, and provide timely and decisive solutions and resolve a wide range of technical, process, and operational issues; detailed knowledge of desktop applications including Windows, Microsoft Office, and relational database theory; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; results driven and detail oriented; experience building and managing teams. Experience in developing functional design and user documentation. Strong project and process management skills. Ability to manage large, complex projects/initiatives that involve high risk and great impact to the organization.

Desired

Master's Degree. PeopleSoft Campus Solution and Higher Education experience. Experience using query/reporting tools.
