Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for maintenance of the university’s chart of accounts and analysis of account mappings to support the preparation of year-end and monthly financial statements. Assists accounting staff in identifying, understanding, and analyzing university data sources to recommend methodologies to develop reports and queries, and streamline financial reporting processes. Works with accounting team to prepare monthly financial reports and year-end consolidated financial statements. Collaborates with information technology and business process staff on financial system enhancements, upgrades, and integration projects.

Position Requirements

Desired:

Experience with PeopleSoft, Workday, or other financial and ERP applications. Broad-based knowledge of accounting and financial reporting systems and processes including the preparation of financials reports. Familiarity of higher education, and healthcare/academic medical centers. Experience working with external auditors. The successful candidate will also have strong analytic skills, good written and verbal communication skills, a willingness to adapt to new business technologies/processes, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Required Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, accounting, finance or equivalent combination of education. At least five years of experience in working with general ledger and financials systems with an emphasis on accounting and financial reporting. Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, including information technology, project management, accounting, and finance. Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) skills are a necessity.
