Duties and Responsibilities
The Ohio State University, one of the nation’s leading public universities, is seeking applications for position of Policy and Training Coordinator in the Office of University Compliance and Integrity (OUCI). With the vision of supporting a university philosophy that values compliance and integrity, the Policy and Training Coordinator will support a centralized compliance function that is a leading model in higher education.
Reporting to the Policy and Training Director, the Policy and Training Coordinator will focus the majority of their time on supporting the university policy function and further advancing the university policy process. The position will help coordinate the university policy process, including implementing a governance structure, reinforcing risk mitigation, coaching and collaborating with policy coordinators and policy writing teams across the university, supporting the University Policy Review Committee, and conducting careful editorial reviews of draft policies to ensure they follow the university policy template and style guidelines. The position will work to optimize protocols and procedures for designing, drafting, approving, and communicating new and revised policies. The Coordinator will maintain an active database and website of all university-wide policies and other governing documents, calendar all university policy activities, oversee work performed by student interns, and perform various other duties to ensure the smooth functioning of the university policy process.
The Policy and Training Coordinator will also support a university-wide compliance training program for faculty, staff, and students. The Coordinator will assist the Director with various compliance training initiatives, function as OUCI’s office administrator for BuckeyeLearn (the university’s learning management system), and sit on the BuckeyeLearn Operations Committee.
Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; proven experience managing critical projects in a large organization; demonstrated ability to create and implement processes in a matrix reporting environment; exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills; ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines with minimal guidance; detail-oriented and able to analyze complex information; facility in leading teams of colleagues toward broad goals with clear planning and specific timeframes; ability to provide a high level of professional interaction with all levels of diverse stakeholders throughout the university; extensive experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Experience in policy development, training coordination, project management, process improvement, and leveraging technology to communicate with large audiences.
