Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct support and assistance to pharmacists in the dispensing of pharmaceuticals to the student population of the Ohio State University. Provides customer service for drop-off and pick-up of prescriptions and maintains an orderly flow at the front counter and point-of-sale (PSE) terminal; complies will all PSE guidelines for the sale of pseudoephedrine; operates pharmacy computer to enter customer and insurance information; maintains medication profiles; under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, enters prescriptions, assembles them by counting, pouring, and labeling medication; alerts customers to drug interactions; assists in inventory control and helps maintain pharmacy in an orderly state; assists with prior authorization processes; provides general office support to Pharmacy Services Manager. This position will requires some evening and Saturday hours
Position Requirements
Desired qualifications:
Experience operating a pharmacy computer system desired; 1-3 years customer service experience desired.
Required Experience
Required qualifications:
High School diploma or General Equivalency diploma (GED); successful completion of a pharmacy technician training program, registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; PTCB certification; must have worked a minimum of one year in pharmacy dispensing medications; must have current Basic Life Support-Heath Care Worker (BLS-HCW) certification upon hire.
