Duties and Responsibilities
University Marketing at The Ohio State University is committed to measurably growing and deepening audience perceptions, understanding of, and preference for Ohio State; its leadership position, comprehensive excellence, and global impact. We steward Ohio State’s distinctive brand image, and we champion marketing efforts across the University. Working across the multimedia and design teams in collaboration with other University Marketing disciplines and campus partners, the Motion Graphics Designer will storyboard, visualize, design, animate and deliver compelling strategies in-line with team, project and university objectives for use across interactive digital channels, including but not limited to social media, OSU.edu, mobile and event features. Requiring equal parts creative and technical 3-D acumen, the Motion Graphics Designer may also be asked to produce traditional print and static digital graphics during peak periods of need.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphic Design, or equivalent experience; 2 years of work experience in graphic design and/or motion graphic design; Demonstrated strong graphic design, strong typography skills; Expert knowledge utilizing Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and various 3-D software platforms; Working knowledge of creative, project management and Microsoft Office software. Desired: 4 years of work experience in graphic design and/or motion graphic design; Experience creating long form narrative pieces in addition to shorter marketing promotional pieces; Proven illustration skills from conceptual sketches to motion graphics implementation; Strong understanding and experience with interactive media.
