Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the Marketing Technology team within University Marketing, the Marketing Technology Analyst plays a key role in the analysis, management, and optimization of the university’s evolving marketing technology ecosystem.
A vital team member focused on effective, fit-to-purpose solutions, this position is responsible for the technical leadership and oversight of various marketing technology systems. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who possesses marketing technology expertise and knowledge of systems and business analysis; Is well versed in modern marketing technologies and trends; Can effectively consult and partner with colleagues, including strategists, subject matter experts, marketers, software developers, and project managers; Is comfortable with ambiguity and can quickly become knowledgeable in a range of solutions; Shows a passion for digital marketing and a strong user focus; Has an eye for detail and a willingness to proactively translate organizational challenges into technical solutions; Demonstrates strong communication skills, both oral and written, especially in bridging communication between technical and non-technical colleagues; Will be expected to exhibits the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement’s core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
40% – Marketing Technology Management
Leads in the implementation, onboarding and adoption of core digital marketing technology systems; Performs high-level “super user” configuration tasks in systems; Defines processes and procedures for systems management; Collaborates on the creation of documentation and training materials
35% – Business and Systems Analysis
Effectively liaises and negotiates between marketing needs, internal technical capabilities, and vendor solutions; Leads efforts to identify and document new uses cases and requirements; Gathers relevant domain knowledge; Identifies opportunities for coordination and consolidation of MarTech systems, including cost analysis
15% – Marketing Systems Optimization
Proactively optimizes existing systems and processes; Identifies and explores emerging capabilities and features in the marketing technology ecosystem; Acts as both an advocate and promoter of MarTech solutions;
10% – Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Desired:
Experience working within a marketing or agency environment; Experience defining and executing service level agreements and similar business processes;
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer and information science, marketing, communications OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; 3+ years of professional experience managing the implementation and maintenance of technology solutions for Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms in an enterprise setting; Demonstrated familiarity with multiple enterprise systems and platforms across the marketing technology stack (ex: marketing automation, analytics, etc); Proven track record of improving product and customer experience by working cross-functionally across business, support, and/or creative organizations;
