Duties and Responsibilities

The Market Research Analyst will be responsible with market research and analytics studies that support the Office of Advancement. This will include a multitude of quantitative primary research projects especially related to the Buckeye Room, our online community of alumni and other strategic Advancement research initiatives to enhance our business partners’ decisions. They will lead primary research projects through all phases: questionnaire design, sample design, contact list cleaning, data collection, data analysis, reporting research findings, and consultation.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Market Research & Insights and working closely with the Chief Analytics Officer, this position is expected to be a problem-solver who can aggregate, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data from multiple disparate sources in a simple and succinct way. They will be detail-oriented and have the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities to successful completion against established deadlines in a fast-paced, cross-collaborative environment. The Analyst will be proficient in and utilize the Microsoft Office suite and exhibit excellent written and presentations skills with the ability to effectively communicate research results to others

Duties and Responsibilities:

50%     Market Research & Insights:  Consult with business partners to define the research objective and select approach that most appropriately solicits the information needed to facilitate intelligent business decisions; Design questionnaires, design samples, monitor data collection, analyze data, create reports of results; Synthesize research including structured and unstructured data into business insights; Develop raw data into usable databases using statistical software packages and appropriate data cleaning and development techniques; Conduct analysis on the data using appropriate statistical analysis methodologies; Integrate data with data from other internal and external sources; Manage research project workflow, administration, and delivery with a strong adherence to deadlines and an eye for continuous process improvement; Mine existing data from current and previous studies to cut into new reports methodologies; Integrate data with data from other internal and external sources.

30%      Community Management:  Assist with panel recruitment & retention campaigns; Assist with the execution of community engagement initiatives including newsletters and member Hub; Ensure data integrity between panel data and CRM data; Utilize analytics to monitor open rates, clicks, engagement, clients, etc. for quick polls, newsletters, surveys and panel engagement activities; Oversee all technical and system administration aspects of the community to include working with the community platform vendor to address, resolve, and communicate any issues related to the features and functionality of the community.

10%      Administrative Support:  Update presentations and marketing materials; Work with associate director and operations manager to ensure the panel research and engagement calendars are updated regularly; Ensure that project files are organized, up-to-date and archived regularly; Update alumni insights community member Hub on a consistent basis.

10%     Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Desired:

  • Experience working in a cross-team environment

  • Experience using Qualtrics
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Familiarity with online communities.
Required Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business administration, statistics, marketing, sociology, psychology, economics or other quantitative field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of experience conducting market research related studies (authoring questionnaires, collecting data and analyzing / synthesizing responses to develop business insights)
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing data using SPSS
