Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction (classes, labs, & studios) within Fine Arts; assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment; provide institutional support and community service. Fully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
*Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction including but not limited to Photoshop, Powerpoint, audio/video software and 3-D software applications. Must have strong working knowledge of three-dimensional design fundamentals, drawing, painting, and/or other fine art design fundamentals.
*As outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as they relate to the specific area of instruction Fine Arts Program Standard:
A qualified faculty member in fine arts meets all three of the following criteria:
- Possesses an earned bachelor or higher degree in fine arts, or related field, from a regionally accredited institution; and
- Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program and/or course being taught; and
Two of the following:
- A portfolio that demonstrates significant involvement as a practicing artist or designer; or
- Professional certification in the field; or
- Three years directly related work and exhibition experience
Preferred to have a Master of Fine Arts or Master of Arts in Fine Arts Studio
