Miami University is seeking a Facilities Manager for all aspects of facilities care at the Marcum Hotel & Conference Center.  Located Northwest of Cincinnati in Oxford, Ohio Marcum is an upscale conference facility open year-round.  Nestled in a beautiful wooded, retreat environment, Marcum offers a unique venue for conferences, training, retreats, meetings, banquets, receptions, reunions and weddings. You’ll find it within walking distance to all University facilities and uptown to historic Oxford.

The Facilities Manager oversees daily operations management for the maintenance and repair, safety, quality issues and custodial care of the facility – maintaining cleanliness, service and product quality standards of guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms and the like.  With supervisor responsibility to direct reporting staff, this position has responsibility for planning and managing the activities of the hotel housekeeping staff and ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to support efficient operations.  Tasks to include completion of formal written performance evaluations, recommending hiring and firing, and monitoring and controlling labor costs, supplies, and utilities.  The Facilities Manager monitors inventory from outside linen providers, investigate guest complaints, and works with the State Fire Marshall regarding guest safety and the safety of the building.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Management, Business, Hospitality or related field and at least 1-year experience in related field with supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in related field with supervisory experience.
