Duties and Responsibilities
The Digital Fundraising Specialist will have the authority to manage the use and processes associated with The Ohio State University’s central peer-to-peer annual giving fundraising efforts to include personal fundraising and crowdfunding platforms. They will manage and monitor digital fundraising tools and develop and provide best practices and strategic support for Advancement, college/unit colleagues, alumni, donors and friends. This position will be responsible for data collection and dissemination, meeting established fundraising-focused metrics, and assisting with edits and updates to annual giving emails and websites.
Reporting to the Digital Fundraising Manager, the Specialist will work autonomously and prioritize a high volume of work in a team-oriented environment, and maintain knowledge of current digital fundraising tools and trends. They will have familiarity with and be able to utilize Photoshop and MS Office products (primarily Word and Excel), be skilled in managing and organizing their work and time, provide exceptional customer service, display strong analytical and writing skills, and listen attentively to provide thoughtful solutions. Duties
80% Manages peer-to-peer fundraising platforms and tools to include personal fundraising (TeamRaiser and EveryDayHero) and crowdfunding (Buckeye Funder). Develops procedures to recruit university colleges/units to utilize available tools and resources. Develops and shares best practices with and provides customer service and technical support to internal (Advancement and colleges/units) and external (alumni, donors and friends) customers.
Assists Digital Fundraising Manager with developing stewardship strategies for first-time donors. Works with Advancement Services colleagues to manage all data elements to ensure data is collected and shared. Partners with Student Life colleagues to develop strategies focused on Student Philanthropy that will build a culture of philanthropy at Ohio State.
15% Assists with edits and updates to annual giving emails, websites, and central campaigns to include BuckeyeThon. Helps to manage and track the annual giving digital solicitation calendar. Acts as initial point of contact for annual giving digital-related requests including mobile giving and event-related fundraising, from colleges/units.
5% Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Desired qualifications:
Ability to make minor edits and updates within the HTML source code; understanding of digital and email marketing; experience using BlackBaud products; familiarity with annual giving fundraising in higher education
Required Experience
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; 2 years of direct and/or digital fundraising experience; demonstrated experience using website content management systems
