The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Dental Assistant provides direct support and assistance to dentists and dental hygienists in the provision of dental care for the students of The Ohio State University. Provides general office support and direct assistance to the Dental Services Manager in the daily operations of the dental service. This is a part-time position that will work a flexible schedule of 32 hours per week. For complete consideration, applicants should submit a resume.

Position Requirements

Required

Three months of experience (three courses) in dental office practices and procedures; three months of experience (three courses) in dental operatory practices and procedures; three months of experience (three courses) in four-handed assisting techniques; three months of experience (three courses) in inventory record-keeping; three months of experience (300 hours of training) in care of dental equipment; one month of experience (100 hours of training) in using a computer.

Desired

Technical school and/or equivalent combination of education/experience; excellent verbal communication skills and manual dexterity; knowledge of current dental terminology codes and terms and American Dental Association claim form.
