Duties and Responsibilities
The Custodial Lead provides leadership and direction for housekeeping services to various Student Life assigned buildings and areas at ATI and Mansfield campus locations; may be assigned to different work areas and locations as workload requirements vary (such as break periods); leads projects including but not limited to furniture inventory, storage rooms, carpet care program, set up and tear down of event spaces, and wall washing; performs cleaning duties custodial in nature; supervise student workers, coordinates time and leave; works cooperatively staff at ATI/Mansfield to provide seamless service to customers; works independently and in cooperation with other employees to provide housekeeping services; responds to housekeeping service requests per established timeline; works with facility users to determine service needs; requests and maintains supplies and equipment; responsible for safety and security principles; this position is required to travel between multiple facilities based upon business needs; the Custodial Lead must successfully complete and pass the CMI Basic Module training during their probationary period-failure to do so may result in probationary removal; CMI Advance Module Training must successfully be completed and passed within the first year of hire. There are two SEASONAL positions available, 1 generally works Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am-12:00 pm including weekends and holidays as required from August to May; the other is M-F 7am-3:30 pm from May to August. May be required to work varied shifts and/or adjust work hours within a 48-hour advanced notice due to operational needs.
Position Requirements
Required:
Per CCS Specifications, Six months in Custodial Worker 2 title or equivalent experience; documentation of successful completion of department specific, advanced custodian certification testing (examples include Cleaning Management Institute, 3M(TM) S.M.A.R.T. Program, or other certification program recognized in the cleaning industry as reputable); Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and to read and write common vocabulary plus; documentation of 100 hours training in operation of cleaning equipment (or 1 mo. exp.); 100 hours documentation of training in supervision (or 1 mo. exp.); or equivalent; valid driver’s license.
Desired:
High School diploma; 3 years of housekeeping/custodial experience in a commercial, institutional or educational environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); electronic timekeeping experience; ability to lift and/or move furniture; ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds desired.
