Duties and Responsibilities
Application deadline: Open until filled
- Schedule Student Union space utilizing the current scheduling programs. Assist the supervisor to oversee the reservation process through the reservation e-mail. Act as a liaison when scheduling space in other buildings on campus.
- Advise clients and facilitate event planning meetings as needed; prepare set-up diagrams, coordinate reservations and utilize the current diagramming software. Assist with the enforcement of facility policies and procedures along with customer service initiatives. Collaborate with Student Union Operations, Student Life Programming and other campus partners to ensure quality service for clients.
- Participate in the department student employment program to help develop, mentor and retain student employees.
- Assist supervisor with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate the billing and reconciliation process as needed.
- Assist with information and space-use reports as required.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree:
- Requires 1 year of experience in communications, event planning or management.
- Ability to work and communicate with a diverse university and non-university community required.
- Experience working with students of diverse educational, ethnic and cultural backgrounds required.
- Ability to apply policies and procedures required.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills required.
- Detail oriented, time management, organizational, problem solving and customer services skills required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with evenings and weekend hours as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration preferred: relevant Graduate Assistant experience will be considered
- Experience with reservation scheduling software programs preferred
- Experience with reservation diagramming software preferred
- Experience in a student union or educational setting preferred
- An articulate understanding of the mission, culture, climate and environment of a metropolitan university preferred
