Duties and Responsibilities

Position Overview

The Marketing and Communications office, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Content and Editorial Strategist to join our team. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The college hosts 81 majors. With 38 departments, 20+ world-class research centers, and more than 2,000 faculty and staff members, students have the unique opportunity to study with the best artists, scholars, and scientists in their field. The college’s Marketing and Communications office manages and advances reputation and relationships and provides support to the College of Arts and Sciences and all its units. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications, the Content and Editorial Strategist is a skilled writer and editor who leads the development of informative, engaging and audience-first content, with the goal of driving and measuring engagement, advancing the college’s reputation and inspiring choice among its audiences. Responsibilities include developing compelling multichannel marketing and editorial content for internal and external audiences, including prospective and current students, alumni, donors, faculty and staff, and the public, consulting with college units on their marketing goals, and writing extensively across media. This position also is responsible for managing the team’s Digital Marketing Specialist and Content Specialist.

Position Requirements

REQUIRED Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a similar field, or similar combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of related job experience including writing, editing, content marketing and digital marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including strong writing and editing experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with web CMS systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Required Experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in photography, videography and/or media relations a plus.
