Duties and Responsibilities
This position ensures effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment, building controls, and utilities, including providing quality indoor air and a comfortable environment for buildings throughout campus. Duties include but are not limited to building automation operational oversight, daily operation and management of mechanical, HVAC and electrical systems and components, assessment and resolution of issues with controls and building automation, writing and installation of programs that resolve HVAC issues, management of and participation in equipment commissioning process, development and monitoring of energy savings processes, and optimization and maintenance of the various HVAC systems throughout campus. Position manages assigned operations and capital funds and monitors utility budgets, provides direction and oversight to the operations team, and may also respond to emergencies such as electrical and mechanical systems.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field desired; 1-3 years’ experience as PC Network Specialist or an equivalent combination of education and experience; 5 years of experience in BACnet systems to include complex building HVAC system applications and engineering, LANs commands and configurations, alarming, scheduling, proprietary interfaces, integration and system management, PC operation and workstation software, network training and/or experience working with network configurations and troubleshooting; broad knowledge of a variety of Direct Digital Control systems, UPS and Management Cards and setup, Switch Programming and IP infrastructure and networks; knowledge of and hands on experience with servers.
