Duties and Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Development develops and implements short- and long-term plans to secure major gifts from alumni and volunteers in support of the College of Medicine (COM) and School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) and university’s missions, objectives and priorities as set by the college dean and development’s senior vice president.  The focus of the position is to build a solid pipeline of major gift prospects. The successful individual in this position will be polished, friendly, driven and willing to get out the door and talk philanthropy. This position requires frequent travel, primarily focused on the state of Ohio.

The Associate Director of Development will exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancement’s core competencies:  Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree plus at least one year of fundraising experience or experience engaging in persuasive activities or sales with external constituents. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Desired:

Basic understanding of the concepts and principles of fundraising; fundraising experience in a university; previous alumni affairs and development experience.
