Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Advancement Communications and Foundation Relations works collaboratively with the CAO and the Director of Strategic Engagement at the Moritz College of Law and furthers the efforts of the College's Office of Advancement. S/he partners with the College of Law’s faculty and the university's Foundation Relations team to research, draft and secure Foundation funding in the advancement of the Moritz College of Law's mission. Responsibilities also include creating and executing targeted communications pieces for Moritz Advancement; producing various communications on behalf of the dean, faculty, staff and other senior members of the College; and supporting the Advancement team with additional projects.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus at least one-year fundraising experience or experience engaging in persuasive activities or sales with external constituents.
Desired
One year of fundraising experience in a university setting, working with faculty. One year of foundation relations experience. Basic understanding of the concepts and principles of grant writing a plus.
Desired:
Familiarity with contemporary issues and methods of fundraising and philanthropy; demonstrated success in higher education and/or non-profit fundraising; ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of disciplines; knowledge of Ohio State and its policies and procedures.
