Duties and Responsibilities

The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with a team of healthcare professionals and support staff to provide ambulatory care services to the OSU student population; provides medical expertise, promotes respect, acts as a patient care advocate, and maximizes available resources in facilitating a high standard of care; provides direct assistance to the Clinic Nurse Manager in the coordination, planning and daily operations of patient care services, including direct oversight of assigned clinical areas; coordinates walk-in and telephone inquiries from students about health problems; daily supervision of schedule coordination for multiple providers in various disciplines; works a flexible schedule to include evenings and Saturday hours.

Position Requirements

Desired

Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent educational/experience; experience working with minority patient populations.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; 5 years nursing practice in an outpatient ambulatory setting; 3 years or more of direct supervision of staff; strong knowledge-base and understanding of student health-related issues and knowledge of treatments necessary to meet the age-specific needs of college students; BLS-HCW; ability to work a flexible work schedule to include evening and Saturday hours.
