Duties and Responsibilities

Miami University currently has multiple openings for Application Developers I or II demonstrating various levels of qualifications and experience.

Job Summary:

Under specific or general direction, participate in an agile team responsible for delivering solutions, including acquisition, implementation and integration of locally hosted and SaaS third party software, development of custom solutions, and supporting applications. Work effectively with the team and be accountable to the team.

Position Requirements

Application Developer I:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field obtained by date of hire.

Application Developer II:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field obtained by date of hire.
  • 2 years of experience in web-based, application development and using database management systems in application development.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.

Required Experience

Salary Ranges:

  • Application Developer I – $45,000 – $53,000
  • Application Developer II – $53,000 – $60,000

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field ; knowledge of web services (REST or SOA); exposure to application development in a Linux, Windows, or SaaS environment; exposure to Agile methodologies including Scrum and/or Kanban; and knowledge of PHP, Perl, or similar languages.
