Clinical IT Support Technician

The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking a Systems Developer/Engineer to serve the clinical area of the college. The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States, and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten sections or academic units. All major ADA-recognized dental specialties are represented.
Reports to the Director of Information Systems; works closely with and assists Electronic Health Record (EHR) Manager in the deployment and support of College Clinical applications and hardware, managing EHR accounts, supporting operatory computer systems and peripherals, and other clinical technology systems; provides primary Clinical Information Technology end-user support for College faculty, staff and students; provides intermediary support for Clinical Information Technology, working as liaison between vendors, clinical staff, and other clinical users; assists users on clinical applications, including axiUm, MiPACS, etc.; develops and documents Clinical Information Technology support operations; develops and maintains troubleshooting guides and process/procedure manuals for department; this position may require periodic non-standard work hours due to upgrades, emergency outage/disruption response, or scheduled maintenance.
This position requires successful completion of background check(s) and drug & alcohol screening.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
Required: Bachelor's degree in computer related field plus 3 years of experience in customer service field; excellent communication and organizational skills; thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Applications required; ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and coordinate resources to meet the needs of the College technology users; demonstrated skill and experience in computer technology; ability to lift computers and related equipment up to 50 pounds. Desired: 1 or more years of technical support experience in a clinical/healthcare facility
